RABBIT'S IMPORTANT ALPHABET
By Darin Phillips, Illustrated by Patrice Aguilar
Parents, grandparents, and others want to set a child up for success and ensure they will enjoy their first year of school. That is why this series of 10 books were created. Based on independent research that is both reliable and valid on how preschoolers learn, plus the input of Kindergarten and 1st Grade teachers on which topics should be covered, the Preschool Series of Rabbit the Dog books covers a lot of ground. Children love to learn and they want to mimic what Rabbit is doing. The methodology is known as behavioral learning: learn, observe application, try it out, get course-correcting feedback, try it again and again until you gain mastery.
This is the fourth of four books that teach the alphabet.
Rabbit will apply the alphabet to critical facts:
- * Family names
- * Contact information
- * Positive behaviors
There are six short stories in this book. The first story is all about safety, but in a fun way. Rabbit the Dog turns everything into a fun learning game! In the second story, Rabbit and her youngest human 'brother' help each other out by creating sudoku puzzles that use letters and numbers that often confused with one another. In the third story, Rabbit creates a letter maze to help everyone in her class remember all of Rabbit's favorite things. (She might be a wee bit vain.) The fourth story is where Rabbit the Dog learns the legal names and contact information for her parents and other important family members. The next story includes a game that Rabbit made up and likes to play with her friends. The game teaches the pups all about 'good' and 'bad' behaviors. Finally, the last story is about a phoneme game that Rabbit created called "Swat the Sound." Most of the stories in this final alphabet book include games because learning can and should be fun!
