RABBIT LEARNS HOW TO COUNT
By Darin Phillips, Illustrated by Patrice Aguilar
This is the third of five books that teach numbers. In this book Rabbit is going to start counting on her own by:
- * Timing her activities
- * Creating the 'Home Competition'
- * Connecting the dots
Through six short stories where Rabbit the Dog learns about counting, children will start to gain mastery in counting small amounts. Rabbit creates songs to make sure she washes her hands and brushes her teeth long enough to get clean. Rabbit creates a family competition with five games. Rabbit helps count things for a household inventory. (“If Rabbit can do it, so can I!”) Rabbit has to count to complete the dot-to-dot puzzles. And finally, Rabbit learns to count backwards by counting food left over after she takes a bite and toys left on the floor after she puts one away. These stories show that counting can be fun and useful.
